Baptiste
Ramboz

From a humble cellar in Arbois, working with little equipment and great patience, Baptiste creates some truly magnificent wines. With only 0.45 hectars, each barrel is kept with care and affection and each bottle made from these few barrels is cherished.

Only very few bottles are made and we are incredibly honoured to bring a small allocation to Denmark as his wines otherwise only sell locally.

Baptiste worked 0.3 hectars from 2017 while working full time for Tony Bornard and soon was able to expand his vines to 0.9 hectars with vines in Mantry - between Poligny and St. Lothain. To be able to work his vines as well as he wished, Baptiste gave away half of his vineyards and now, with 0.45 hectars he has struck a good balance. The Mantry terroir is rich in limestone and Marnes Gris and planted with Savagnin, Chardonnay, Trousseau, Pinot Noir and surprisingly some Mondeuse and Muscat.

Like all great wines, there is something about Baptiste’s not easy to put into words. They are defined by patience in the cellar where élevage is never rushed and a delicate, almost ethereal quality that makes each wine feel rare and precious.
