Corentin
Houillon

Corentin’s first experience working with wine was pressing Pierre Overnoy's Ploussard 1991 and his apprenticeship in wine tasting began with Pierre’s 1993 harvest, surrounded by his uncles and aunt Manu, Aurélien and Adeline. All this accumulated energy and knowledge convinced him to choose the path of a wine making rather than that of an engineer.

After his BTS Viticulture and Oenology training Corentin worked, amongst others, at Stéphane Tissot and  Dominique Derain and when the opportunity presented itself he joined the Domaine de la Ville, in Morges, Switzerland. He was head of cultivation there from 2015 to the end of 2018, and in particular converted the estate to biodynamic farming and creating natural cuvées.

In 2019 Corentin settled into his own estate in Chautagne, a small Jurassic valley in  the northern Savoie mountains. From his cellar at the bottom of the mountain he has a complete view of his vineyards as they surround him on the steep mountain side.

The domaine is composed of 5 hectares of vines, divided equally between reds and whites, planted with 5 grape varieties, Mondeuse, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Altesse and Jacquère. The soils are Molasse, a type of soil from the last glaciations and is made up of sandstone with calcarous cement which transfers to quartz sands over time.
